FlowPost lets merchants send transactional email from Shopify Flow through their own email infrastructure — SMTP or API providers — so messages come from the store’s domain.

Core concepts

• Flow action — “Send transactional email” runs inside a Shopify Flow workflow.
• Providers — SMTP or API services you configure in Settings (primary + optional fallback).
• Templates — starter HTML with order items, totals, address, and tracking. Send a sample, then copy into Flow.
• Logs — send history; retry failed rows when the body was saved.
• Attachments — HTTPS file URLs on the Flow action (max 5).
• Delivery tracking — provider webhooks update log status (Growth / Scale / Trial).

Flow action fields

• To— Customer: {{ order.email }}. Staff: a fixed address like ops@yourdomain.com.
• Subject— Supports Liquid from the workflow (order.name, shop.name, etc.).
• HTML body— Paste from Templates → Copy. Do not strip {{ … }} tags — Flow fills them at send time.
• Preview text (optional)— Inbox snippet after the subject. Optional but improves open rates.
• From name / From email / Reply-to (optional)— Override Settings for this send. From email must be allowed by your provider.
• Attachment URLs (optional)— One HTTPS URL per line (max 5, 5MB each). Trial and paid plans.

• New order alert (staff) — trigger Order created, template “New order — staff alert”.
• Shipped / tracking (customer) — trigger Fulfillment created, template “Order shipped”.
• COD / payment pending — trigger Order created, template “COD alert”.
• Refund notice (customer) — trigger Refund created, template “Refund issued”.

Webhooks

• App uninstall and scopes update keep shop state in sync.
• Compliance webhooks support customer/shop data requests and redaction.
• Delivery webhooks: /webhooks/resend, /webhooks/sendgrid, /webhooks/mailgun, /webhooks/postmark — update delivered / bounced / complained when your plan includes delivery tracking.
