FlowPost FAQ

What is FlowPost?
FlowPost is a Shopify app that adds a Send transactional email action to Shopify Flow. Emails are sent through the merchant’s own SMTP or email providers, not through a FlowPost-owned inbox.
Do I need Shopify Flow?
Yes. Install Shopify Flow first, then install FlowPost. Create a workflow (for example Order created) and add the FlowPost action.
Which providers are supported?
SMTP, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Amazon SES, Resend, SendGrid, Mailgun, and Postmark. You can set a primary provider and an optional fallback.
Where do emails come from?
From the From address and domain configured on your chosen provider. FlowPost does not send as a shared FlowPost domain.
Does FlowPost need Online Store or POS?
No. FlowPost runs in Shopify Admin and Shopify Flow. It does not require the Online Store or POS sales channels.
How does billing work?
You get a 7-day Trial with full access. After that, choose Starter, Growth, or Scale on Shopify’s plan page (opened from Pricing). There is no permanent free sending plan.
Can I use Gmail or Microsoft 365?
Yes. In Settings, choose Gmail or Microsoft 365 and connect with SMTP credentials (email + app password / mailbox password). Host and port are filled for you.
What happens if I go over my plan limit?
On Starter and Growth, sending pauses when you reach the included monthly quota. Upgrade to Growth or Scale in Pricing to continue. Scale includes unlimited emails.
Can I attach files?
Yes. In the Flow action, use Attachment URLs — one HTTPS URL per line (max 5, 5MB each). Available on Trial and paid plans.
How does delivery tracking work?
On Growth, Scale, and Trial, point your provider webhooks (Resend, SendGrid, Mailgun, or Postmark) to the URLs shown in Settings. Logs then update to delivered, bounced, or complained.
Where can I see sent emails?
Open FlowPost → Logs in Shopify Admin. Retention length depends on your plan.
